I know this comes a few weeks after christmas but hey! like light follows darkness, there will always be christmas. When i first saw Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter's names on the back of the book 'The Dinosaur that Pooped Christmas', i scoofed at the idea of two succesful rockstars turning to writing children's books. I really wasn't sure what to expect. But after reading it for my four year old who is obsessed with dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures, i must admit the two authors are not just gifted in writing top charting songs, but are accomplished fiction writers worth their salt. The book is easy to read with a few lines per page and colourful illustrations. Its a 'laugh out loud' read in a real 'toilet humour' from the first page. The dedication page sent me into hysterical bouts of laughter. Its ideal for early readers as it does not involve a lot of prose but boasts of brilliant colourful illustrations which would certainly have a sensory appeal to the little ones.

The story!

Danny asks Father Christmas for too many presents and Father Christmas decides to teach him a lesson by giving him a big dinosaur. The dinosaur eats up everything including Christmas and leaves a messy
trail of destruction and er..poop along the way.
