When he meets a young woman called Celeste, who is an assistant at his local pharmacist, Buffy hopes that prescriptions dispensed by her can help him feel younger again. The comic and mysterious relationship that grew between Buffy and Celeste had me hoping for a happy ending. INTRODUCTION I was in my public library when I saw a prominently displayed book with a picture of a cheeky looking dog on the front. I looked inside and the print was a reasonable size for a standard paperback, and so would suit my tired eyes. These are the shallow reasons that I thought I would take a chance on this book, by an author who was new to me, and I got myself an entertaining read. I have since found out that the author is from a literary family and is an established author in her own right.
