My eldest daughter is now five and a half and is really enjoying the progress she is making with her reading. With this in mind, I have been looking out for books which are a bit longer than our usual picture books and which she will have a chance of reading for herself. This is a very funny book for confident readers and for parents alike. Little Doogs is a puppy who just wants a place he can call home. Unfortunately when sausage-dog Schnoss's business venture does not turn out as planned the Schnoops end up on a mad-cap Road Trip. The characters are very well-written - the stroppy bunny Honey being a particular favourite, along with the lazy 'Rubbish Artist' giraffe, Jezza and the laid-back Dutch elephant, Trevor. The story is a good, pacy read too.
