I picked up this book from my local charity shop the other week as I thought the blurb on the back made it look like a good story.

I had heard of Dean Koontz before and I think I must have read one or two of his books before many years ago but hadn't read any lately.

This story is about a man called Graham Harris who is an ex climber. He finds he has clairvoyant skills and finds that he sees murders as they are unfolding with a great deal of clarity. He goes on a tv show to be interviewed by Anthony Prine, a major tv host for the local tv channel and while on there he "sees" the murder of a woman taking place and he tells the viewers what he is seeing.

There have been a few other women being found murdered around the area which are being done by a man who calls himself The Butcher, seeing that he cuts up the women and leaves their bodies in a state.

Graham and his girlfriend Connie end up in his office which is on the 42nd floor of a high rise building only to find that The Butcher is in the building and is after them and there is no way out.

I found the story really exciting, it was the kind of book where you didn't want to put it down as the story was running along so fast, things were happening one after the other. The book became frightening when they were being chased from floor to floor and it was thrilling stuff to read.

I thought the characters were really well drawn out and you could get to know them in their most scariest thoughts. I also liked the way the book kept you guessing right through with some good twists towards the end.

Apparently this book was made into a tv film some time ago, I wish it would be made into a big blockbuster as I think it is brilliant material for a great film.

I would highly recommend this book if you want something that would keep you gripped to every page. Usually it takes me a month or more to get through a book but this one lasted me less than a week as I just wanted to read and read.
