Batman universe in the past two or three years and if you re not up to speed with these, you won t have a clue what is going on, and Grant Morrison is not a man to waste time explaining. This collection is aimed squarely at regular Batman readers. Without the background detail that provides, you will find yourself hating every minute of this book, because you won t understand much of it. It has to be said that the quality of the tales is somewhat variable. Let s start with the bad news first. The two middle stories are at best mediocre and at worst rubbish.
