The only entry that really lets the book down is Joe R Lansdale's 'On The Far Side Of The Cadillac Desert With Dead Folks' which reads like it was written by an eleven year old, but other than that ''The Giant Book of Zombies' is a throughly enjoyable read that is great to dip in and out of and at over 500 pages is book that will keep you occupied for a good while....more

'The Giant Book of Zombies' is a great collection of short stories themed around the living dead, with contributions from some excellent horror authors spanning over a century. These include 'Sex, Death and Starshine', a story about undead entertainers in an old theatre taken from Clive Barker's legendary Books of Blood series, and 'The Facts in the Case of M Valdemar', a baroque horror classic by Edgar Allen Poe about a doctor's patient who appears clinically dead but continues to speak about his condition from his deathbed.
