Superb Reading (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson)

Advantages: over 500 pages Disadvantages: None I am a prolific reader and enjoy many different genres. For me the most important aspect of a book is that it is well written, closely followed by good/interesting story/plot/characters etc. This is definitely one of the best books I have ever read. The pace of the narrative remains fairly constant so you want to know what happens next but do not experience that desire to speed read. I though the balance in switching between character narrative was just right; a rare talent, just as you want to know what is going on with another aspect of the plot - there you are with that character. I have also read the Girl Who Played With Fire and, in my opinion, it is equally as good, almost a continuation but not quite a sequel. Sadly there is now a long wait for the third book to be published in English. In the meantime I have just discovered that we have our own police procedure genre with the policeman based in Portsmouth so I am starting on that series and will review on the site (Graham Hurley). I would be interested to hear from anyone who has read these books. Summary: One of the best books I have ever read |
