Excellent, excellent, excellent...need i say more. This book met my expectations as an avid Laymon fan. The characters seem real and enthrall you from the start and the story builds up to an explosive ending. The characters always have some terrible back story but they come out fighting throughout the book. Its not exactly real life stories but who wants to read everyday stories? As always Laymon promises sex, blood and lots of gore but it is all done very tastefully. Get used to the occasional rape scene or twisted pervert. If that is not your cup of tea, please dont read a Laymon book. The title does sound dodgy but i think that is part of the excitement with ... Read the complete review

The Glory Bus is one of the books that were published after Richard Laymon's death. From what I read his wife decided to publish some of his unpublished works. I love most of Richard Laymon's books so was pleased when this one was released in 2005. The Glory Bus is written around two main characters. The first is Pamela. She has just got married and is extremely happy. As in all of Laymon's books, no character will stay happy for long. Pamela is kidnapped by a psycho who she went to school with. Pamela has been kidnapped by a psycho who's lusted after since her days of high school. In the desert she manages to injure and escape from Rodney the psycho, but she decides to go back and get the car keys off what she thinks is a dead body... Although Rodney isn't dead he soon will be when the mysterious Sharpe turns up and saves her. Pamela then awakes on a bus where the driver will not speak to her "while the bus is in motion - it's against company policy!"
