I bought this book, as i'd been out for education a few years before heading to university and wanted to 'swot up' before starting the course. The book contains LOADS of useful information, including developing your writing, speaking, reading etc. The book also goes into each topic in detail which is very helpful, yet it is an easy to read and easy to follow book. This isnt the sort of book you read from cover to cover. Really it is more beneficial to read chapters you are interested in developing or refreshing a topic area before starting revision for exams. With many people getting revved up for the fresh college year ahead, this book should be at the front of their thoughts. This is considered by students and lecturers alike to be the bible of any learning, and it is particularly useful for those who are entering into study, having been out of the education system for a while, such as mature students entering university education. the book encourages you to invest in yourself and take control of your studies, rather than the fear of study controlling you.
