The Google story - The making of a household name!!

I always wanted to buy this book as it got huge accolades as best seller and luckily one of my friends gifted me this one.

As Google is one of my favourite search engines I was always eager to read the entire story. The Google story describes history of Google and the entire journey to be a household name. The book is of around four hundred pages and is an easy read. Introduction The book starts with the initial story of its founders, Sergey and Larry, their meeting in Stanford and how they connected with each other albeit earlier differences between them. The book also talks about their vision to make Google the best of the breed.
I specifically liked the way this book reflects the activities of many of its associates -idea of launching Google News the book also talks about all the fun associated with working in Google and contribution made by most of the associates. Through examples the book profiles how Google has faced challenges in its journey and has stood the test of time to turn out as triumphant in a short spell.

On a critical note I feel the book should have included details about business models followed and operational activity followed during the growth of Google as a company.

All in all;a good first read but not an epitome to be followed. I will rate it average as I have read better books related to making of a business or company. If you are looking this book in terms of inspiration for strategic ideas you will be disappointed.
