The Falcon's Malteser - Anthony Horowitz
by blissman70 - written on 29/10/08 (Very useful, 292 readings)
Rating:
was well worth reading... and how right he was... This brilliantly funny book was penned in 1986 and began the Diamond Brothers collection written by the rather ingenious Anthony Horowitz, basing itself in London and following the strange events surrounding two brothers. * BRIEF PLOT When Nick Simple, (or Diamond as he is to be known) decides to stay in London when his parents emigrate to Australia he ends up living with Herbert, his older, but less intelligent, brother, who is runs a detective agency, under the name Tim Diamond, after his career in the police cadets is cut short due to some unfortunate incidents at the police training centre. Ark Angel - Anthony Horowitz

Rating:
actually done anything wrong, but, knowing the Alex Rider series, there is bound to be an enormous plan in place. Although this is somewhat predictable, I find it amazing how Anthony Horowitz can find a new problem for each book, and they don t come much bigger than this one! Alex gets involved with the CIA and MI6 at the same time in this book, and it is so cleverly written to have all of those organisations in place, and yet Alex is the only person who is capable of helping them by saving the day! This book s downfall, in my opinion, is its ambition. The complexity of the situation that Horowitz is trying to replicate is so complex that at times the book was quite ...

Nightrise - Anthony Horowitz
by bluestar19 - written on 07/07/08 (Very useful, 326 readings)
Rating:
Nightrise is the third book in the power of five series by Anthony Horowitz and the latest one available to date preceeding Evil Star. The next book in this series is looking at a possible October 2008 release titled Necropolis: City of the dead. The Power of Five series is a written version of the Pentagram series from the 1980s which Horowitz himself alluded to. If you have read the first two instalments of this series that you will know what to expect and Nightrise fulfils those expectations. There has never been much hype surrounding Horowitz s books, which baffles me because I find his books to be substantially better than books which receive pre-release hype. ...
