The first 16 of the Hardy Boys mysteries were penned by Franklin W Dixon. This is the final one of the first set Dixon wrote, and sees Frank and Joe, the Hardy Boys, investigate theft. The books have, on the whole, been revamped, so it really depends on whether you're looking for the original version or the revised one. The original version involves the robbing of a cinema following the showing of the film 'A Figure In Hiding'; whereas the revised version involves the theft of an artefact.
