It is rare that authors' names live on in publication after their death. Currently, books are still being released under Robert Ludlum's name despite his passing away a number of years ago. The truth is that there is a ghost writer employed to put into hundreds of words the plot outlines he left behind. A different side to this is the use of a pen name by a number of different ghost writers, as with the Hardy Boys mysteries.
