Frank & Joe Hardy are the teenage sons of famous private detective Fenton Hardy & his wife Laura. Together, (& sometimes from help with family & friends) they investigate all sorts of crimes & strange occurences.... The Four Headed Dragon was published in the US in 1981 & was the sixty ninth in the series. The book first appeared in the UK in 1983 & was numbered 67 when it was published by Armada. This book starts with Frank & Joe receiving a call from their friend Chet Morton. In the 1980s, seemingly eons before Reagan and Gorbachev met to put an end to the Cold War for a final time, and before glasnost and perestroika came out from the Russian point of view, many fictional tales, on paper and on screen, used the Cold War 'conflict' as a base for their stories, and many to a successful end. The Hardy Boys were first published in the 1920s, and so had a number of historical occasions to mark their fictional tales with.
