Frank & Joe Hardy are the teenage sons of famous private detective Fenton Hardy & his wife Laura. Together, (& sometimes from help with family & friends) they investigate all sorts of crimes & strange occurences.... The Great Airport Mystery was published in the US in 1930 & was the eighth in the series. It was revised in 1965 when a new story incorporating ideas from the original book was used. The book first appeared in the UK in 1972 & was numbered 18 when it was published by Armada. For some reason this book gives me the same sort of feelings as the below-par "The Secret Of The Caves". When Frank and Joe Hardy are the ones accused of being criminals following a robbery at an airport, the brothers are forced to use their brains rather than their brawn for once as they must find out who the real thieves are and prove their own innocence. The original story keeps the boys at the airport as they work out who the real crims are, whereas a revised version sees them jet setting around a few tropical islands in an attempt to revamp the book.
