Frank & Joe Hardy are the teenage sons of famous private detective Fenton Hardy & his wife Laura. Together, (& sometimes from help with family & friends) they investigate all sorts of crimes & strange occurences.... The Mystery At Devil's Paw was published in the US in 1959 & was the thirty eighth in the series. It was revised in 1973. The book first appeared in the UK in 1974 & was numbered 35 when it was published by Armada. After the jet-setting to around the US, Tropicale & Puerto Rico in the previous book, "The Ghost At Skeleton Rock", Frank, Joe & Chet are off again, this time to Alaska when they ... Just when it was getting promising, with a short run of good Hardy Boys books, they drop a clanger. The Hardy Boys books were originally written midway through the 20th Century under the pseudonym Franklin W Dixon. A number of ghost writers have put their authorian skills to the test in writing a Hardy Boys novel, and sadly this one doesn't pass muster. The Hardy Boys are brothers Frank and Joe Hardy, sons of supersleuth Fenton, and they quite often find themselves caught up in the middle of an adventure or being asked for help from their friends and sometimes strangers.
