Ever one for providing continuity in a series of books, Franklin W Dixon links two previous Hardy Boys books with this one in sending Frank and Joe Hardy off to a remote island by invitation. They take their ice boat, the 'Sea Gull', off to Cabin Island, invited by the owner of the island, a reward for helping him retrieve his car in an earlier book/adventure.
