Frank & Joe Hardy are the teenage sons of famous private detective Fenton Hardy & his wife Laura. Together, (& sometimes from help with family & friends) they investigate all sorts of crimes & strange occurences.... The Mystery Of The Chinese Junk was published in the US in 1960 & was the thirty ninth in the series. The book first appeared in the UK in 1974 & was numbered 34 when it was published by Armada. The Mystery of the Chinese Junk is the 39th book in the series of Hardy Boys books, published under the pseudonym of Franklin W Dixon but written by a number of ghost writers. The first half of the volumes were generally of decent quality, but the latter half have so far been rather a disappointment to say the least, relying a lot on the readers to use their own imagination to fill in the gaping plot holes. Happily, this book returns to a more original plot format where the Hardy Boys (brothers Frank and Joe Hardy) have a more straightforward mystery to solve, and one that seems a bit mroe believable.
