Frank & Joe Hardy are the teenage sons of famous private detective Fenton Hardy & his wife Laura. Together, (& sometimes from help with family & friends) they investigate all sorts of crimes & strange occurences.... The Shore Road Mystery is the sixth Hardy Boys book and was originally published in the US in 1928 before being revised in 1964. It was first published in the UK in 1972 & was numbered 17 when the books were published by Armada. The Shore Road Mystery is the 6th Hardy Boys book, and is penned by Franklin W Dixon, the pen name of Leslie McFarlane. Following a dangerous trip hunting for treasure in their fifth adventure, Frank and Joe Hardy return back to their home town of Bayport, where they become involved in the police's search for a number of mysteriously stolen cars. The plot is a welcome return to the Hardys' home town of Bayport, and following a couple of more tame stories, the boys are launched back into danger by sticking their noses in wher crooks don't want them to.
