The Shore Road Mystery is the 6th Hardy Boys book, and is penned by Franklin W Dixon, the pen name of Leslie McFarlane. Following a dangerous trip hunting for treasure in their fifth adventure, Frank and Joe Hardy return back to their home town of Bayport, where they become involved in the police's search for a number of mysteriously stolen cars. The plot is a welcome return to the Hardys' home town of Bayport, and following a couple of more tame stories, the boys are launched back into danger by sticking their noses in wher crooks don't want them to.
