 ... Boys book. The books follow the adventures of Frank and Joe Hardy, sons of fictional supersleuth Fenton Hardy, and are written by Franklin W Dixon, the pen name of Leslie McFarlane. This is, as I mentioned, the penultimate Hardy Boys book penned by McFarlane, ghosting the Dixon name, and is a very well written one. The characterisation is well done in this book, and the plot is a little more intrinsic and believable than other Hardys plots, and this is a very welcome factor in a very good adventure for the brothers. The original version of this book featuring the Hardy Books had the rather tame subject of the theft of stuffed animals! The more recent version, revised in the 1970s, featured the stuffed animals once more but as part of an international spy ring and much deeper criminal activity. It took the Hardy Boys to Canada, a bit further afield than normal, and is a welcome move for McFarlane's penultimate Hardy Boys book. The Short-Wave Mystery is the 24th Hardy Boys book. The books follow the adventures of Frank and Joe Hardy, sons of fictional supersleuth Fenton Hardy, and are written by Franklin W Dixon, the pen name of Leslie McFarlane.
