Frank & Joe Hardy are the teenage sons of famous private detective Fenton Hardy & his wife Laura. Together, (& sometimes from help with family & friends) they investigate all sorts of crimes & strange occurences.... The Arctic Patrol Mystery was published in the US in 1968 & was the forty eighth in the series. The book first appeared in the UK in 1973 & was numbered two when it was published by Armada. The book jumps straight into the plot as soon as it starts. For a moment, I decided to put aside the fact that the Hardy Boys, Frank and Joe, are teenagers still in education, and also that they seem to have a lot of time on their hands, and thought of analysing this book from the point of view of the story itself, ignoring the unbelievability factor so often present in these books. The result was a thoroughly well written book. This is the 48th book in the series, and as all are aimed at teenage boys it makes sense that the heroes should be in this category themselves.
