Frank & Joe Hardy are the teenage sons of famous private detective Fenton Hardy & his wife Laura. Together, (& sometimes from help with family & friends) they investigate all sorts of crimes & strange occurences.... The Clue In The Embers was published in the US in 1955 & was the thirty fifth in the series. It was revised in 1971. The book first appeared in the UK in 1972 & was numbered 20 when it was published by Armada. The book opens with Tony Prito calling Frank & Joe & telling them that he's been left some curios by his uncle Roberto. Someone called Valez has offered to buy the curios, unseeen, for the sum ... The 35th Hardy Boys book sadly follows on from the previous two books in terms of how exciting and well developed it is. The books are all 'written' by Franklin W Dixon in terms of production, although a number of different ghost writers have actually penned the books with Dixon being used as a pseudonym. Most of the better books are contained in the first 20 or so books, and from there on in it seems a bit more downhill in terms of quality. The Hardy Boys are Frank and Joe Hardy, the two sons of supersleuth Fenton Hardy (what a name!) and they always seem to get caught up in adventure in their endless holidays and long weekends.
