Frank & Joe Hardy are the teenage sons of famous private detective Fenton Hardy & his wife Laura. Together, (& sometimes from help with family & friends) they investigate all sorts of crimes & strange occurences.... The Crosscross Shadow was published in the US in 1953 & was the thirty second in the series. It was revised in 1969. The book first appeared in the UK in 1972 & was numbered 24 when it was published by Armada. The book open with Frank & Joe practising with Bayport High's football team. The Crisscross Shadow is the 32nd of the many Hardy Boys adventure, written under the pseudonym Franklin W Dixon by one of the many ghost writers to have experienced writing tales of the two brothers, Frank and Joe Hardy. This 32nd book features a bit of a cat and mouse chase where the crooks are known early on, and this slight change in tack is welcome indeed. Up until this book, the majority of the book focused more on the mystery side of things as the brothers, along with their supersleuth father, attempt to find out who the criminals are and then bring them to justice in heroic fashon.
