Frank & Joe Hardy are the teenage sons of famous private detective Fenton Hardy & his wife Laura. Together, (& sometimes from help with family & friends) they investigate all sorts of crimes & strange occurences.... The Secret of Pirates' Hill was published in the US in 1956 & was the thirty sixth in the series. It was revised in 1972. The book first appeared in the UK in 1972 & was numbered 14 when it was published by Armada. The book opens with a diver shooting his spear gun at Frank & Joe. The Secret Of Pirates' Hill is the 36th Hardy Boys book, and one that sees a little bit of return to form after some lacklustre publications with the previous few books. The Hardy Boys are Frank and Joe Hardy, sons of supersleuth Fenton Hardy. The pen name Franklin W Dixon is used by a number of ghost writers to publish the books. This tale sees Frank and Joe, along with their friends Chet and Tony, head off to find a missing cannon, of all things. This particular cannon, a demiculverin, is sought by a man named Bowden, who asks the boys to help out.
