Frank & Joe Hardy are the teenage sons of famous private detective Fenton Hardy & his wife Laura. Together, (& sometimes from help with family & friends) they investigate all sorts of crimes & strange occurences.... The Viking Symbol Mystery was published in the US in 1963 & was the forty second in the series. The book first appeared in the UK in 1974 & was numbered 33 when it was published by Armada. You would think that, at some point, the ghost writers and plot skeleton creators would run out of legitimate ideas to base a Hardy Boys story on. This is the 42nd book in the series of popular Hardy Boys books, and the plots seem to waver between being believable and pushing the boundaries a bit. To start with, it is quite questionable that a pair of teenage brothers (Frank and Joe Hardy) would become embroiled in top secret and extremely dangerous missions all across the Americas.
