Kathryn Flett is a journalist, TV critic and has appeared in the BBC series Grumpy Old Woman. In 1999 she wrote her only book to date - The Heart Shaped Bullet - which is not really a novel as it depicts the true events surrounding the break up of her marriage. As you can imagine it is a poignant and at times heart breaking read but I assume it must have also been pretty cathartic for her to write everything down. In fact, as it emerges in the book, she started by writing about her break up in her Observer column virtually as it was happening.
