'The Jester' is actually a collaboration between detective crime thriller writer James Patterson and his colleague Andrew Cross. I think James Patterson needed to call on a co-writer for this one because it's a little bit different to what he usually writes. Hugh Deluc is the main character of this book and he's mad as anything to start out with. His medieval village has been invaded and his wife has been abducted by the knights who pillaged it. The title of the book comes from the fact that Hugh enters the castle dressed as a Jester in a bid to rescue his wife.
