Wild Justice - Wilbur Smith

Premium Review Get hooked by this action thriller (266 words)
by Martin52 - written on 09/06/09 (Very useful, 3 readings)
Rating:

Unlike many of the books written by Wilbur Smith, this story is a one-off affair. As you would expect from this author, this is a really gripping adventure story. However, it also has many of the elements of a political thriller and despite the fact that it is a little dated, having been written about thirty years ago, it is a cracking read. The story starts with the hijacking of a passenger jet off the east coast of Africa. However, this is no mere simple terrorist action but just the start of a devious and terrifying plot. However, the terrorists have underestimated General Peter Stride, the commander of Thor Command, an elite anti-terrorist organisation. Whilst ...

away from. Wilbur Smith has got a fantastic talent and seems to make all of the characters come alive. You can feel how powerful Moses Gama is, you can feel how forceful Centaine is. You can feel the anger in the air that must have been around in South Africa at that time. All in all this was an excellent book that just seemed to get better and better the further into it you got. A fantastic book to read even if you havent read any of the others in the series. Give Rage a try..it might open your eyes to some of the wrong that still goes on in our world, even today. ...

Premium Review Out of Africa (598 words)
by RockStar - written on 17/02/01 (Very useful, 526 readings)
Rating:

The Courtney series concentrates on the main character Sean Courtney. Sean is born a twin to his brother Garrick. The brothers are very similar to each other in childhood until a freak accident sparks a reaction which leads to them becoming progressively wider apart. When the Lion Feeds, documents Sean's chilhood and his early manhood. From his humble up bringing on the Homestead in Ladyburg to him hunting ivory out in the Veld. The thing I like about the first book in the series is the youth factor, and all the adventures Sean has a young man. I wish I could have lived as a British settler in South Africa in the 1860's, because the settlers then saw a real Africa and that ...
