I read my first C P Snow book a few months back following a recommendation by a friend. Not really knowing what to expect except that he wrote largely about academic and legal circles, I was expecting a difficult and heavy read, but was surprised at how light and enjoyable the book was. The Light and the Dark, the second in the Strangers and Brothers series, was just as good, if not better. C P Snow has an ability to write about the most boring of subjects and yet bring them to life. I highly recommend this author.
