In response, the Lorax appears as the voice for nature, speaking out about the consquences of the Once-ler's actions, pleading with him to stop. The Once-ler's business grows, and the land and it's inhabitants begin to suffer, until nothing is left of the vibrant wilderness, replaced by smog and pollution.
