I saw a review of this author’s work some time ago in The Times and have been meaning to pick up a copy for a while. It is rarely available in book shops, so I was pleased to eventually find a copy in my local library. The author’s fictional private investigator, Pepe Carvalho, sounded interesting because he was clearly as interested in cooking as in solving crimes and there was supposed to be a series of recipes for unusual Catalonian dishes throughout the book.
