... the style of theother characters from the mighty boosh like Naboo, Bollo and Bob Fossil. It is known that in the television series many of the programmes executive producers and editors also appear in front of the screen as well as behind it, in this book, it gradually becomes more clear that this happens as many of the people in the photo's are dressed up as a certain animal or monster. One of the more popular characters who is infront of the screen is the character Bollo, who is a gorilla. In the first series ...more

Premium Review The Mighty Book of Boosh - Julian Barratt: mighty random (at first) (480 words)
by - written on 09/11/09 (Very useful, 36 readings)
Rating:

I got this book for christmas last year, quite by surprise. I had watched series 3, but no other series. When you first read it, it does seem a bit on the random side, with little pictures and photos, and also parts of script from the mighty boosh and words from various 'crimps', like soup. Despite what the above says, this book was written by both Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt, as you can tell, because of the difference in writing and style. For example, you've got Vince's (Noel Fielding) story 'Ace Frechley fights the space Jackals' and then you have Howards' (Julian Barratt) 'A trupmet full of memories'. Two very different stories. There are ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review How the Mighty haven't yet fallen (599 words)

Rating:

I haven't long been a fan of The Mighty Boosh and only really became aware of them from watching the third series. After seeing it though I have been hooked, now finally getting my hands on the box set of DVDs it wasn't going to be too long before I got the book. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting. Now that I've become a big fan of theirs I was left ever so slightly disappointed with their next installment. It's common knowledge that the main duo Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt star in the very surreal TV show as Vince and Howard, however it's less well known that the man inside the Bollo gorilla suit is actually a graphic designer and photographer. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Mighty Book of Boosh - Julian Barratt: Saboo you slaaaag (267 words)
by - written on 23/10/09 (Very useful, 21 readings)
Rating:

I will start this review off, by saying that if you have seen the TV show first you will enjoy this book so much more than if you try to read the book first. The reason for this is that there are a lot of references from all 3 seasons and you may feel pretty loft as to what is being said. The mighty book of boosh is a compilation of small pieces of literature explaining things from the tv series or extra completely random additions, for example Bob Fossils 'Post cards from Nam' Which if you have seen the tv show you will know that Bob contantly pretends to his mother than 'Nam is still happening. Or a much more commonly known character (the moon) ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Mighty Book Of Boosh (180 words)

Rating:

The Mighty Book Of Boosh is the hard back book to go with the fantstic Mighty Boosh show. The book contains the lyrics to some of their best 'crimps' and some very funny random pictures of the cast and characters. There are a few other good bits in the book, like the list of animals in Bob Fossils Zooniverse, but overall I dont think its that great of a book. I received this book as a christmas present. I wouldn't of been impressed if I paid the £10 + that this book retails at. I don't think it relates to the series and the live shows enough. The best bit of the book is probably 'Vince's book of excues for being late' (which is one of ...  Read the complete review
