The Mother and Daughter Diaries - Clare Shaw The Mother and Daughter Diaries revolves primarily around the contrast between Jo (the daughter) and Lizzie (her mother). Jo is very ordered and organised and likes lists of 10 items. She gets it from her father. Lizzie isn't so organised, she's a single mother with two children to worry about, her ex husbands new girlfriend is pregnant. Jo needs to control her life and after her father leaves, she finds a coping mechanism in watching what she eats.
