The Movie - Louise Bagshawe ... women in Hollywood. When she's offered the chance to make a movie with two sure-fire stars, one of them queen-of-the-catwalk Roxanna Felix, she knows it's an opportunity too good to miss. Roxana may be a model rather than an actress, known for her devastating beauty and acid tongue, but she has the on-screen magnetism Eleanor needs. And when Megan Silver, waitress and struggling writer, appears with a dynamite script, it looks like they have all the ingredients for a runaway success!

There's bucket fulls of frustration to unload. That's what I like about Louise Bagshawe, her men aren't like that old joke: What's the difference between a clitoris and a pub? Answer: A man can always find a pub. An LB guy can seek out buttons that even us girls have never found and they are always, shall we say, well built. Take Elizabeth's guy, Jack Taylor. That's Jack the USA Olympic Skiing Champion and millionaire, of course, not the bloke from the local chip shop. Elizabeth gets it together with him for the first time and says, "You're huge." "And you like that", says Jack, "You like me to ...

I've just recently finished reading Tall Poppies and found it a good read. It's all about two different girls, whose stories are told separately. One is Elizabeth, a rich girl whose father owns a huge pharmaceutical company. She is desperate to work in the company but her father doesn't think it's any place for a lady to work. He sends her off to finishing school in Switzerland, where she discovers a love for skiing. She gets to be really good and even gets to the Olympics as a British competitor. But she's still dying to work in the company business. The other girl is Nina. She starts off as a teenager who gets pregnant by a guy who doesn't actually like ...

Louise Bagshawe in general

Premium Review A sexy, spunky, fun writer. (326 words)

I can't say that I know Miss Bagshawe personnally but having read two of her books, I think I know her reading style pretty well. In the opening pages of her books it explains how she worked with rock groups before going on to become an authour and this influence is clearly reflected in her writing of the two books i've read. One of the characters in her first book, Career Girls, works with a rock band and one of the characters in her second book, The Movie, is in a rock group. Although I have never had personal experience with any rock groups, it is clear in her writing that she knows about these things and can write about them well. Since this is the only real ...
