The Famous Five: Five Go Down to the Sea - Enid Blyton

Premium Review Five have a very Cornish and dark adventure! (351 words)
by pmcds - written on 07/07/08 (Very useful, 29 readings)
Rating:

Five Go Down To The Sea is the 12th of a 21 book series written by Enid Blyton about the Famous Five. The books are considered to be some of the best children s books ever, and I have them all, as they held a special place for me when I was a kid, and I still read them from time to time. The Famous Five are Julian, Dick and Anne Kirrin, their cousin George (Georgina) Kirrin and her dog Timmy. Five Go Down To The Sea sees the Five embarking on a train journey to stay at a farmhouse on the Cornish coast, with Mr and Mrs Penruthlan. Not long after arriving, and despite promising themselves they would not get into adventure this time (!) the Five encounter Yan, a local boy ...

by pmcds - written on 06/07/08 (Very useful, 45 readings)
Rating:

Enid Blyton's The Famous Five series holds a special place in many people's hearts as compulsive reading as a child, mine included. The second of the original 21 books penned by Blyton is Five Go Adventuring Again. The Famous Five are Julian, Dick and Anne Kirrin, their cousin George (Georgina) Kirrin and her dog Timmy, and they experience adventure and solve mysteries. Five Go Adventuring is set in the winter holidays of the children, who are all just over the 10 year old mark. As the four children gather once more at Kirrin Cottage, the house of George's mother and father, Fanny and Quentin. The children have underperformed at school and are forced to entertain a tutor during ...
