Advantages: Clear concise storyline without too much baggage
Disadvantages: Characters Continuity re-written shortly afterwards
Volume 10 of the Amazing Spider-Man is both a cracking read and a direct lead into the character redefining (& fairly poor) story 'The Other'.
Written at a time when Spider-Mans status quo was being changed every few months this tome features Spider-Man living & working with the New Avengers and battling the forced of HYDRA.
It's a good book with some classic moments, who ever thought they'd see Aunt May Parker put Wolverine in his place, and some cool team-up action.
The artwork is spot-on throughout & Straczynski has a good feel for his characters & their dialogue.
I recommend this book wholeheartedly alongside the others in this series (except perhaps for vols 8 & 9 but that's a review for another time) as a cracking Spidey adventure.
It's just a shame that the following few years of storylines have pretty much taken this out of continuity (I won't go into it here but if you search for One More Day / Brand New day on Wikipedia you'll see what I mean).
Overall this is a good book, perhaps not the best intro to the Spider-Man mythos (for that try the Essential Spider-Man books) but a cracking read for those already in the know.
Definitely worth a look
Summary: A version of Spidety that worked well
