I recently read and thoroughly enjoyed The Nightingale's Nest by Sarah Harrison. The story is told by the main character, Pamela Griffe, who is a strong and resourceful woman - my favourite kind of female character. I wanted to tell her so: Dear Pamela I felt I had to write to you to say how much I enjoyed your part in the story The Nightingale's Nest by Sarah Harrison. It was bad enough that you were widowed at the tender age of 18 but when your young husband was killed in battle in the First World War, only days after your honeymoon, it must have been hard to accept.
