Advantages: Draws you in, like no other author

Disadvantages: Can't wait for the next one!

Put simply, A brilliant author. She writes exceptionally well and really draws you into the story, to the point that you believe it is based on fact. I have read a few of her books and have found that they are the kind you are unable to put down. This was my first and the story was very compelling and kept me hanging on until the end. The story of a possible suicide pact make parents question just how well they know their children and evokes a barrage of questions about society in this day and age.

The Hartes and the Golds have lived in and out of each others pockets for many years and have shared the good times as well as the bad. The families are so intertwined that it is almost inevitable when they have children, that these kids become akin to soul mates for one another. The scene has been set, of an idyllic setting and then, out of nowhere, comes the news that Emily has been shot dead and indications seem to point to a suicide pact. The story culminates in a showdown in the courtroom, as Chris ends up on trial for murder.

Picoult is an author like no other, having been an avid reader of various authors i have not found one who writes as eloquently as she does. The fact that she has published quite numerous books and they are of varying levels is a bonus, as there is always another fabulous read waiting. As an aside, My Sister's Keeper, another of Picoult's books is due for release on the big screen towards the end of the month.

Summary: Story of a possible suicide pact
