Jewels of the Sun - Nora Roberts

Premium Review Jewels of the Sun (937 words)

Jude find themselves falling in love but what s going to happen when Jude s six months in Ireland are over? I consider myself to be a fan of Nora Roberts but like many prolific writers she seems to write some books that I absolutely adore and others that I don t enjoy so much. Unfortunately this book falls into the second category. I found it very difficult to get into this book because there s just so much description. It s nice when a writer sets the scene but Nora Roberts spends a couple of chapters just describing the Irish countryside. These initial descriptions of Ireland are broken up by equally tedious explorations of Jude s emotions. By the time Jude actually ...

The Gift - Nora Roberts

Premium Review Short and Sweet (1048 words)

The Gift is a book by Nora Roberts containing two short stories with a Christmas theme. Christmas is my favourite time of year and Nora Roberts is one of the my favourite authors so when I found this book for 80p in a charity shop I had to buy it. I don t tend to read many short stories but sometimes I think it s nice to read a short, romance story when you re in need of something to cheer you up quickly and you just want to get to the happy ending with minimal angst. I got exactly what I expected with this book. -Home for Christmas- The first story, Home for Christmas, is about Jason, a small town boy who wanted to see the world. He left his home town with big dreams ...

The Villa - Nora Roberts

Premium Review Winemaking never seemed so romantic or so dangerous (343 words)
by jenmck - written on 16/04/09 (Very useful, 22 readings)
Rating:

not one of my favourite Nora Roberts books, but I still find it very enjoyable and the characters are very well drawn. The romance between Sophia, the hot headed Italian and Tyler the laid back wine maker is meant to be the main focus of the book, but I am drawn more to the Pilar-David relationship. Pilar transforms from a passive, defeated woman into a strong confident woman, during the novel once she frees herself from her first husband and wins the love of David. The murder/thriller aspect is well-written with an excellent twist at the end. If you looking for an easy to read romance book, with a little bit of mystery and suspense, you can t go wrong with this ...
