The Gift is a book by Nora Roberts containing two short stories with a Christmas theme. Christmas is my favourite time of year and Nora Roberts is one of the my favourite authors so when I found this book for 80p in a charity shop I had to buy it. I don t tend to read many short stories but sometimes I think it s nice to read a short, romance story when you re in need of something to cheer you up quickly and you just want to get to the happy ending with minimal angst. The Villa - Nora Roberts

not one of my favourite Nora Roberts books, but I still find it very enjoyable and the characters are very well drawn. The romance between Sophia, the hot headed Italian and Tyler the laid back wine maker is meant to be the main focus of the book, but I am drawn more to the Pilar-David relationship. Pilar transforms from a passive, defeated woman into a strong confident woman, during the novel once she frees herself from her first husband and wins the love of David. The murder/thriller aspect is well-written with an excellent twist at the end. If you looking for an easy to read romance book, with a little bit of mystery and suspense, you can t go wrong with this ...
