      Very helpful

This is a book that I downloaded after browsing through the kindle free list on amazon. It sounded all right but I didn't have very high expectations for it since a lot of the free kindle books that I have read lately have been really rubbish, especially with all sorts of religious references in that just ruin the plot. However this proved the exception to the rule and was actually excellent.

We are introduced to the protagonist, Jenny, in the first couple of pages in a flashback to when she was a baby and her mother had just died, the reason for this is not explained at this point and we will learn it as we go through the book. This then goes to the present day where we begin to learn about Jenny's life, she is a loner and has been nicknamed by the popular kids as mittens since she has been wearing gloves for as long as anyone can remember but no one knows the real reason but her and her dad - it is actually because touching anyone gives them a deadly disease. She is destined to be alone until she discovers the one person she can touch, but his girlfriend is her deadly enemy!

While this might seem like just another young adult fantasy novel as so many have been coming out lately, it is a lot more than that and it is quite original to what is already out there. In addition, a lot of it is not really appropriate for a younger audience since there are some fairly graphic descriptions of the violence that occurs within it at times, the book changes tone throughout to become a bit more extreme. The characters within it I found really good and quite fresh, particularly the antagonist Ashleigh; she seemed to be one of the best villains I'd read about lately, simply because to the outsider she didn't seem particularly evil but her twisted schemed went so far you could see she really was quite evil! There were also some good twists at the end which I really didn't expect! This was a good book, you can get it on amazon.
