      One of Laurens great stories

Stephanie Laurens is one of my all time favourite authors and i have not found a book by her that i havent fallen in love with. The above synopsis says this book is about Amelia Cynster but its wrong.

This one is actually about Simon Cynster and Portia Ashford.

Simon doesnt like having all these women thrust upon him by meddling mothers. He's known Portia since she was a child and has never considered her to be wife material and shes also known to be disinterested in marriage.

Simon starts his search for a wife..on his own terms at a party at Glossup Hall and a heated kiss between him and Portia starts him thinking she isnt the child he once knew. They've always been friends but now they fight to spend time alone together away from prying, meddling eyes.

When they are starting to get closer a murder is committed and without ruining the story their relationship is under threat.

Although something always happens to threaten the relationship in the story, i found this one more exciting than most. Im always waiting for the twist in a book but this one kind of threw me. It was a very welcome change to the normal twists and probably kept me more glued to the book than i would have been otherwise. There's only so many times i can read about someone's upbringing being the problem. It gets old very quick. It was really nice to read about an exciting problem and introduced some new, interesting characters for Laurens to expand on.

Give this passionate Laurence novel a chance, its just as great as every other she has written.

Marrying you will be entirely my pleasure.Amelia Cynster hears these words from handsome, enigmatic Lucien Ashford, 6th Viscount Calverton, and is stunned. It's near dawn and she's risked scandal by lying in wait for him just outside his London house. But he agrees to her outrageous marriage proposal - just prior to falling unconscious at her feet. Amelia is torn between astounded relief and indignant affront, then decides she doesn't care. She has always loved him - no other man will do for her - and she's tired of waiting. Sometimes a young lady needs to take matters into her own hands. But matters of the heart are never that simple. The first hitch in Amelia's plans comes when Luc refuses to agree to a hasty wedding, but insists on properly wooing her...in public and in private. Soon she longs for those moments away from the watchful gaze of the ton in which she can learn all about seduction from a master. But unknown to Amelia, Luc has a very good reason for wooing her. Every wicked gentleman has his price.
