I like to keep a note of what books that I have read so that I do not mistakenly buy them again. In the process I also make a note of which books are amongst my all time favourites. In the past 6 years I have read over 420 books and only 5 have really made me stop and say, “This book is a true classic.” With ‘The Power of the Dog’, this list has risen to six. A truly excellent novel. Set during the seventies through to the present day, Winslow has created an epic that is comparable to classic books such as ‘The Godfather’ and films such as ‘Goodfellas’.
