The book, having been published over five years ago, is now obviously a wee bit out of date, in that certain events and things in Monty's life have since moved on. (Or finally finished, like his marriage) But it gives the reader a keen insight in just what it is that makes this marvellous Scottish golfer tick.

Colin Montgomerie is without a doubt the best golfer Scotland has produced in the last few decades, having won no fewer than seven European Tour Order of Merit Titles (that's the top golfer in Europe) and having represented Europe with distinction on so many occasions in the Ryder Cup. That's *NOT* to say he's been the most popular Scottish golfer of the last few decades. In my estimation that title would most likely go to the amiable and very likeable Sam Torrance, whose penchant for smoking wee roll-up cigarettes, even when in the company of the world golfing elite, certainly endeared him to my heart.
