This is the first book of a series called cherub. This series mentions a boy called James Adams. In this review I will not contain any spoilers but hints about what happens. After his dad dying in his youth and his mother having a heart attack when he was twelve James Adams is left as an orphan. In the children's home where he is sent he is a room mate with a boy called kyle. However this boy is no ordinary boy and recruits him for a special organization called cherub.
Cherub is an orginization which turns the tables on crooks. Thiefs use kids all the time. For example if a man at night rang the doorbell of an old woman at night she would be suspicious. But if their was a young boy crying she would let him in while his dad can jump out, club the old lady and steal the money left underneath the bed.
In this book James Adams undergoes basic training and is sent on his first mission. This is a truly fantastic read and as I said in the title you will completely wish it was true. In my opinion this is an exciting read however isn't suitable for younger kids and should be read by teenagers.
