Keeping chickens is an interesting and rewarding 'hobby'. The eggs that hens produce, when kept in semi-free range or fully free range conditions, are far superior to supermarket eggs, even those marketed as 'free range'. The natural food that the chickens eat (and, I daresay, the fact that they're content, rather than stressed) gives a lovely orange yolk and an egg that's full of flavour. Keeping chickens is easy; they're not very demanding at all, requiring food, fresh water, and shelter, but not much else.
