‘Fables and Reflections’ is an appropriate title to govern this second anthology of stand-alone stories released in DC’s series The Sandman, collecting all of Neil Gaiman’s canonical Sandman comic releases from 1991 to ’93 that didn’t fall into the larger story arcs that dominate the majority of these paperbacks. The Days of Glory - Brian M. Stableford
Straightforward space opera tale quirkily executed, interesting written format allows a large cast of characters to be defined purposefully, reasonably well-realised, if rather unconvincing, galactic civilisation. Lack of any real ideas at the heart of the bookover-reliance on violence to further the story (although, of course, this is a book about a war!)barely above average pulp science fiction.
