On a recent visit to the library one of my daughters picked up a lovely looking book called 'The Scarecrow's Hat' by Ken Brown which we duly added to our selection and then took home to read. We had not read any other books by this author and as far as I can tell, he has not written any others which is a shame as this is a truly delightful book. I think we were first attracted by the charming front cover which shows a brown chicken sitting on top of a scarecrow's head. The scarecrow is wearing a straw hat which is obviously the hat in the title, but as you read the story you realise that it is not really about the hat at all, but about different characters ...  Read the complete review
