Newest Review: ... written by Elizabeth Buchan, 'Revenge of the Middle-Aged Woman' which tells the story from Rose's point of view, the affair ... more  ... and the aftermath. However, I haven't read the one and I found this okay to read, you didn't need to know any background story as it was well explained and could easily be read as a stand-alone novel, but I just wanted to make you aware of this in case you want to read its prequel first.
To be honest, I really didn't like the lead in the character at all. About halfway through I did start to warm to her a bit, but she just wasn't written as a likeable person. I guess that being someone who stole her best friends hus...more |

This was another book I had bought home from my parents house when I went to stay, and as I know my mum hasn't read it yet, it had to go straight to the top of my to-be-read pile otherwise it probably wouldn't get read until 2009 (if I'm lucky!). The cover wasn't that attractive, looking quite old-fashioned and not that appealing, but it was the blurb on the back of the book which made it sound quite readable, so I delved in hoping for a good strong to spend my evenings with for the next couple of days.
