you - and I don t mean scaring as in horrible or gory frightening, but just that chill down your spine as you sit in bed with the bedside light on. While I was reading it in France I was convinced there was someone downstairs, ready to leap out of the pages and into reality! I think any book that can move us in that way deserves a read, and I m sure if you decide to dip into David Baldacci, this book is the perfect start. ...

Much like “dotchristine”, I too stumbled upon this author by accident. The first book of his I bought was Total Power. Quite simply, I could not put it down. When I finished it I went straight out and get another of his books, then another, then another. His writing keeps you on the very edge of your seat, you cannot wait to turn the next page. He writes with such understanding and detail that you think he must have had experience of all the characters he writes about – but that would be impossible, wouldn’t it? I stumbled upon David Baldacci's first book, Absolute Power, in an airport bookshop a couple of years ago and spent my first 2 days of holiday with my nose buried in it, I couldn't put it down till I'd reached the last page. Ever since, I've bought every single one of his books the minute they've been released for sale in the UK and I'm eagerly awaiting the next one. With all the hype that surrounds every new John Grisham book, I simply can't believe how Baldacci's books go by almost without mention.
