This is a brilliant childrens story. One very wintery night wholst dad and sam were bringing in the sheep they noticed that one of there very pregnant ewes had gone missing, bess the sheep dog goes off in the snow storm to find her. Dad is angry at his sheep dog for running off but sam is worried about bess incase she cant find her way home in the snow storm and a power cut. Sam even stresses over bess wholst taking a bath before bed. Bess is brilliant and clever, she helps the pregnant ewe get home just in time to have her baby lambs. This is a beautiful story, it is short enough to keep the attention span of a young child and has full page ... Read the complete review

Dad is worried about the weather, especially if the power lines fail, ... Read the complete review

THE SNOW LAMBS This is one book which I have read time after time during Literacy Hour to children in Key Stage 1 and also Lower Key Stage 2 and also to my own daughter. THE STORY This focuses on Sam and Bess (the sheepdog), and their relationship with each other. One snowy night, Sam and his dad are bringing the sheep back home before the storm starts, and although Sam thinks his dad has counted one of the ... Read the complete review
